In 2003 the Town of Jamestown approached the Pinecroft Sedgefield Fire Department about providing fire protection to the town. After discussions were held it was agreed upon and the Town of Jamestown started contracting their fire protection with the Pinecroft Sedgefield Fire Department. This contract immeditely started providing 24/7 fire protection for the town.

The Jamestown station also is currently used as a medic base for Guilford County Emergency Services.

Station 46 is currently staffed by 3 full-time personnel consisting of 1 Lieutenant and 2 Firefighters. It houses Engine 46, Engine 246 and Medic 35.
