In 1959, a fire station was built on Oakvale Street to provide fire protection to the western portion of our district, including Sedgefield and the High Point Road area.  In 1968, a new 4 bay fire station was built on Mackay Road to replace the Oakvale Street fire station. This is the site of the current Station 23.  Station 23 is also a contract fire station with the Greensboro Fire Department, providing coverage to the SW portions of Greensboro around the Adams Farm and Grandover communities. 

 

Station 23 is currently staffed by 3 full-time shift personnel consisting of 1 Captain and 2 Firefighters. It is the home of Engine 23.
