In 1964, a group from the community south of Sumner School met with the department's Board of Directors and requested help in establishing fire protection for their area. The department agreed to assist. A fire tax election was held in February of 1965 and was carried by a large majority of the vote. The new area became part of the Pinecroft-Sedgefield Fire District and construction on a new station began. It was completed in the summer of 1965 and was located on Burnetts Chapel Road. In the fall of 2002, a new 6-bay fire station was built on Coltrane Mill Rd to replace the Burnetts Chapel Road fire station. This is the site of the current Station 25.
Station 25 is currently staffed by 3 full-time shift personnel consisting of 1 Captain and 2 Firefighters. It is the home of Engine 25 and Tanker 25. It also houses our Fire Safety House and Fire Prevention Trailer.
